And it wasn't even Tuesday!

If it's a Cruisin' Classics event - it must be raining!
But that didn't stop us from having a great weekend!

Leaving Marquis Corners sharply at 9:00(ish) we headed east and then north for our first break at Bobcaygeon.

We continued north to Haliburton where we stopped at Abbey Gardens for a tour of this new "growing experience".
"Abbey Gardens is an inspired community project that encourages visitors to think more sustainably about land, food, energy and economy. Our garden offers fresh ideas about local food and inspires collaboration in our growing community."

Leaving Abbey Gardens we turned left to Rhubarb Restaurant in Minden where we enjoyed a leisurely lunch (no rhubarb pie for dessert :() and watched the raindrops keep falling into Mirror Lake.

The rain stopped and we headed along a winding road through Bracebridge and on to Gravenhurst.  Continuing south to Coopers Falls and Washago and then west we arrived at our final destination of the day - Best Western Plus Mariposa Inn and Conference Centre in Orillia.

Check In.....Chill Out.....

After another delicious meal, this time at the Grape and Olive Restaurant we enjoyed a couple of hours at the races!  Biggest winner of the night was President Dave with last year's winner a "loser" this year - sorry Reid :(

The rain continued overnight but didn't put a damper (much) on our weekend!

We left the hotel turning right, then left - zigzagging our way to Coldwater Village to do what we do "second-best" ..... SHOP!  The rain stopped and finally the sun came out :)

After lunch (we haven't eaten for at least an hour)at Joeless Joes in Alliston, it was a beautiful afternoon for......

...a TRAIN RIDE in Tottenham!   All aboard!

The steam coach was built in 1947 and chugged us along through Beeton Creek Valley and back to Tottenham.  There were real flagmen at every crossing just like in the "old days"!

Leaving the South Simcoe Railway we enjoyed the red fall colours driving east and then south to end our cruise (eating of course) at Swiss Chalet in Uxbridge!

Thank you so much Wil and Linda - we all had a great time!

Trivia question - how many miles (round trip) from Port Perry to Orillia?
Answer - 83.2 as the crow flies.....330 with Cruisin' Classics Car Club!
